Carter Kent Breaks School Record, Advances to States

Carter Kent finished 4th in the 1600 at the WPIAL Track & Field Championships, qualifying for the PIAA State Championships. His time of 4:21.3 broke his school record by nearly five seconds.

Middle School Track Athletes Win Awards at Canon-Mac Invitational

Carter Frank Takes 1st in Discus and Breaks School Record

Carter Frank broke the school record in the Boys’ discus for the 3rd time this year and moved up to 6th place in the WPIAL Boys Class AA individual rankings with a throw of 138’10”. He finished first overall in the California Last Chance Track & Field Invitational. Hayley Gibson moved up 9 spots in the girls shot put from 21st to 12th in the WPIAL standings after throwing a season best 34’0”. Hayley also finished 1st overall. The WPIAL Individual Championships are on Wednesday, May 13, at Slippery Rock University. Track Teams Fall in Playoff Semifinal Round

The Trojans had several strong performances at the playoff meet, but fell short of advancing to the team final playoff round. The boys defeated Fort Cherry 74-69 but fell to Greensburg Central Catholic 110-40, Ligonier Valley 90-60, Mohawk 99-50, and Shady Side Academy 90-55. The girls were swept by Shady Side Academy 90-60, Laurel 118-32, Fort Cherry 101-49, and Greensburg Central Catholic 77-56. Greensburg Central Catholic boys and Laurel girls advanced to the WPIAL final round.Carter Frank led the way with a 1st place finish in the discus (136' 11"), while Layne Typovsky took 2nd in the javelin (146' 3"). On the track, Carter Kent placed 2nd in the 1600 (4:30.56) and added a 3rd place finish in the 800 (2:08.74). Two School Records Broken at the Mid Mon Track Classic

Two school records fell at the Scott Frederick Mid Mon Track Classic. Quinn Barbero continued his push through the record books, clearing 12'-0" to win gold in the pole vault. On the girls' side, McKenna Klima set a new school record in the pole vault, taking silver with a jump of 7'-1". Morgan Ross earned gold in the long jump with a mark of 15'-3.5", and Carter Kent won the 800 with a time of 2:06.17. Several Trojan Track Athletes Earn All-County Honors

The Trojan track and field team competed at the Washington-Greene County Championships on Friday, finishing with two county champions and numerous top-eight finishes across various events.Carter Kent and Carter Frank each earned championship titles. Kent won the 1600-meter run, while Frank took first place in the discus and set a new school record.Several other members of the boys' team earned All-County honors. Brandon Meier finished 8th in the 100-meter dash. In field events, Adin Keyes placed 8th in the long jump, and Brayden Crockett finished 7th in the javelin. Quinn Barbero and Bradyn Henry both earned all-county honors in the pole vault by finishing in 5th place and 8th place, respectively.
