Results from the PIAA State Cross Country Championships
Carter Kent represented California at the PIAA Cross Country Championships in Hershey on Saturday. Competing in the Class A race, he placed 86th out of 257 runners with a time of 18:36. Lady Trojans in Consolation Game to go to State!
The Lady Trojans VB Team lost a close 5 game set to Serra Catholic HS on Wednesday Night at Peters Twp HS Arena. The girls were down 2-0 and they went to work on their comeback. They tied it 2-2 which earned the a 5th set win the match and get to the WPIAL Championship Game & an automatic Birth into the PIAA Tournament but they came up short. Tremendous effort and now they take on Frazier in the Consolation Game with a chance to earn a spot in the PIAA Tournament. The game is this Saturday ( 11/1) at 12pm at Charleroi HS. Coach Ed Woods captures yet another award as the TRI-County South Conference Coach of The Year. Under Coach Woods the Trojans finished 9-1 overall & 7-0 Undefeated as 2025 Conference Champions. The Cal Trojans FB Team captured the Conference Championship on Friday night at JM Stadium. The team avenged a 1 point loss from last season by beating the Host Team 36-14 to remain undefeated in conference play. The #6 seed Trojans (9-1) will host the #11 seed Frazier Commodores this Friday Night at 7:00pm in the 1st Rd of the WPIAL Playoffs. Tickets can be purchased on the Link provided. The Lady Trojans moved on to the WPIAL Semifinals VB Tournament by sweeping the Host Beth Center lady Bulldogs on Saturday. The #7 seed Lady Trojans will now take on the #6 seed Serra Catholic Lady Eagles this Wednesday ( 10/29/25) at 7:30pm. The game will be played at Peters Twp HS. Carter Kent Qualifies for States
Carter Kent placed 18th out of 168 boys to qualify for the PIAA State Cross Country Championships for the 3rd consecutive season. Carter's time of 17:15.2 was a season-best time. Carter will compete in the state championships race on Saturday, November 1, in Hershey, PA. This marks the 8th time in the past 9 years that the Trojans have advanced at least one runner to the state championship meet.The boys' team placed 13th out of 36 schools in Class A. Jason Rechichar takes over as Head Coach of Trojans Baseball
The California Area School District hired Jason Rechichar at their October Board Meeting as the New Head Baseball Coach of the Trojans. Coach Rechichar just recently served as the Head MS Baseball Coach here at California and is very familiar with the baseball program. We are very excited to welcome Coach Rechichar as OUR New Leader of California Baseball!

Emily Iams finished 15th out of 74 middle school girls to earn all-county honors at the Washington County Middle School Cross Country Championships at Mingo Creek Park.
